Today, as I drove to work on this Christmas eve, National Public Radio did a story on a young Iraqi mother with two little children whose husband was murdered because he was on the wrong side of something to somebody, and whose own life was repeatedly threatened in Iraq because she worked for the United Nations and other relief funds. She was finally able to flee to Jordan, where she prayed for five years to come to America. Last year her prayers were answered. She applied for and was granted refugee status. She, her mother, sister and a younger brother made it safely to Atlanta, Georgia.
